TransMontana 2012
1/11/2012 update!

The following agenda is intended to provide you a brief daily overview of the anticipated coming year ride.
Like previous years, we may require some modifications to the schedule as we proceed.
You will be advised daily of our plan, so there is no need to try to remember everything.  Check the website,
www.transmontana.org, often as updates will be posted there as soon as they are available.

Please keep in mind our main objective is to raise charitable funds for MSAA, and as a reward to
ourselves, enjoy a wonderful snowmobile adventure through the Rockies.  Play areas are not included
in this overview. They will be determined as we proceed, but we intend on getting our share of
playtime in this year.  We have made some changes for the 22nd Annual TransMontana.  We will be
riding north to south, beginning in Eureka and finishing at West Yellowstone.

For those of you who are joining us for the first time, this is not a race.  However you will be expected to keep up with your group at all times.
This should give you additional incentive to get in shape before the holidays.

Friday, January 13 –  Meet in West Yellowstone. Load truck by 4:00 p.m. and say hi to all.
Those that choose their own transport will join us in Eureka tomorrow.

Saturday, January 14 Bus ride to Eureka for the Kick-off Dinner with the Ten Lakes Club at the Riverstone
      Lodge.

Sunday, January 15  Ride with the Ten Lakes Club from Eureka area to Big Mountain for lunch
with the Flathead Snowmobile Association to lead us into Canyon Creek.
Stay in Big Fork, Marina Cay.  Dinner off the menu at Riley Restaurant.

Monday, January 16  Ride from Swan Lake area with Mike’s friend to Hungry Bear for lunch and to Seeley
Lake with the Seeley Lake Club.  Dinner together at the Chicken Coop.

Tuesday, January 17  Ride out of Seeley with the Seeley Club to Huckleberry Pass, meeting the Ponderosa Snow Warriors
for lunch with a fire on the trail. Split the group and those that want to play can stay on Huckleberry, go to Stonewall,
or whatever, but be at dinner on time in Lincoln.  The others can make it to Lincoln early and take it easy for
awhile.  6:00 p.m. dinner and auction at the Community Hall with the Ponderosa Snow Warriors.  Bring your
check book and be ready for a great time.

Wednesday, January 18  Ride the Anaconda area.  Bus to Fairmont Hot Springs for dinner and the night.

Thursday, January 19  Today we will ride out of Deer Lodge area up into Mike’s back yard for the day ending up
in Elk Park with dinner at the fire hall with the Mining City Trail Riders. Bus to Ennis for the night.

Friday, January 20  We will trailer to West Fork and ride back toward Virginia City, Ruby Rivers, Lobo Mesa,
Elk Lake, then to Raynolds Pass.  Bus into West Yellowstone for the closing banquet.

EQUIPMENT - We suggest you carry a minimum of the following on the sled: First aid/survival kit, 2.5 gal fuel,
spare belt(s), tools, rope, spare gloves/mittens, water, and snacks. In addition, you will need
to bring any parts you may desire for your convenience. Remember your camera and radio (462+mhz) if
you have one.  Parts and fuel can get very expensive when you’re in the middle of nowhere!
NO alcohol or drugs allowed on the trail.

You may contact any committee member with questions.
